Salad Ideas for Inspiration
If you get tired of the same old salads at home, try one of these for something new and delicious. These are not salad recipes with amounts listed because salads are very easy to improvise and use what you have in hand. Dressing recipes linked where we have a recommendation.
TUSCAN CHICKEN SALAD
Romain lettuce, grilled chicken, cheese tortellini, red onion, black olives, artichoke hearts, roasted red pepper. Toss with pesto & olive oil, or Italian vinaigrette.
SESAME CHICKEN SALAD
Thinly sliced Napa cabbage with grilled, marinated breast of chicken, toasted almonds, crisp wontons, red bell peppers, green onions, mandarin oranges, sesame seeds and sweet sesame dressing. ASIAN CHICKEN SALAD DRESSING
MEXICAN CHEF'S SALAD
Chopped iceberg lettuce, chopped onion, chopped tomato, kidney beans, grated cheddar cheese, ground beef taco meat, taco chips, salsa. Toss with thousand island salad dressing (1 cup mayonnaise, 3 TBS sweet pickle relish, 1/3 cup chili sauce)
COMPOSED RASPBERRY & PECAN SALAD
Assorted salad greens tossed with raspberry vinaigrette dressing, feta cheese, fire-roasted red peppers, mandarin oranges, red onion and candied pecans. RASPBERRY VINAIGRETTE

ITALIAN MARKET SALAD
Fresh Mozzarella, chunks of Fontina cheese and salami, artichokes, Kalameta olives, roasted red peppers, peperoncinis, garbanzo beans, red onion, cucumbers, tomatoes, romaine or iceberg lettuce topped with fresh Parmesan and basil vinaigrette. BASIL VINAIGRETTE
BBQ CHICKEN CHOPPED SALAD
Grilled breast of chicken, chopped tomatoes, corn, green onions, black beans, jicama, cilantro, mozzarella cheese, iceberg lettuce, sweet onion strings. Top with BBQ ranch dressing (ranch dressing mixed with BBQ sauce) and BBQ sauce on the side.
Chopped romaine and iceberg lettuce topped with roasted turkey or chicken, applewood smoked bacon, feta cheese, tomatoes, hard cooked eggs and avocado. Serve with blue cheese dressing or your favorite. ROQUEFORT DRESSING
HONEY-CRISP CHICKEN SALAD
Chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce topped with tenderloins of deep fried chicken, toasted almonds, cucumber, hard cooked eggs, corn and tomatoes. Serve with honey mustard salad dressing.
SANTA FE SALAD
Crisp romaine lettuce, red onions and fire roasted red peppers, jack and cheddar cheeses, sliced avocado, corn, diced tomatoes, crisp tortilla strips and grilled chicken breast.
ITALIAN CHOPPED SALAD
Romaine and iceberg lettuce, fresh mozzarella, fontina cheese, salami, artichoke hearts, Kalamata olives, roasted red pepper, garbonzo beans, red onion, cucumbers, chopped tomatoes, fresh Parmesan and basil. Top with Italian herb vinaigrette.
FRESH SPINACH SALAD
Spinach torn in bite sized pieces, red onion, hard boiled eggs, bacon. serve with wilted lettuce salad dressing. (Fry 6 slices bacon until crisp. Add 1/2 cup vinegar and 2 TBS sugar to bacon and fat in skillet and bring to boil. Pour over salad)
Chopped tomatoes, cucumber, radishes, bell pepper strips, feta cheese, red onion, Kalamata olives, fresh oregano. Toss with Italian herb vinaigrette.
