Package your granola in a lovely canning jar for an exquisite gift!

Granola

This almond granola recipe comes from Kathy off the America's Test Kitchen television show.

• 1/3 cup maple syrup
• 1/3 cup light brown sugar
• 1/2 cup vegetable oil
• 4 teaspoons vanilla (I use 1/2 this amount, I found it too strong)
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 5 cups old fashioned rolled oats (not instant)
• 2 cups chopped almonds (I pre-roast mine before chopping)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
2. Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl
3. Line a baking sheet with sides with parchment paper
4. Press granola mixture into pan with potato masher
5. Bake for 45 minutes without stirring
6. Cool 1 hour and break into pieces
