Russian Tea Cakes1 cup butter or margarine
½ cup powder sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 ¼ cups flour ¼ tsp. salt ¾ cup finely chopped nuts Preheat oven 400. Mix butter, sugar, and vanilla thoroughly. Blend flour, and salt together; stir into shortening mixture. Mix in nuts. Chill dough if desired. Roll dough in 1-inch balls. Place on un-greased cookie sheet (cookies do not spread.) Bake 8-10 minutes or until set but not brown. While still warm, roll in powder sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again. |
